BFM - Metering Suite 1.6.0

BFM or Big F*ing Meters is a metering plug-in compatible with macOS, Windows, and soon to be iOS platforms. This tool boasts an oversized design intended for maximum visibility in recording studios, emphasizing the importance of maintaining distortion-free recordings.

BFM currently presents 6 Modes including RMS, LUFs, Peak, and Peak Hold values, offering a diverse range of displays to assist in signal management. Users can choose from Text, Bars, Waves, VU Meters, Spectrum, & Time modes, each featuring various fonts and formats for customized monitoring.

The Text mode provides a simplistic display of essential values that can be easily viewed from a distance. It showcases RMS, Peak, Peak Hold, LUFs (Short Term & Momentary), Maximum values, and LUFS range. Additionally, sensitivity and peak hold time can be adjusted across all pages with a simple click to reset Peak Hold.

The Bar mode delivers a classic meter view illustrating the value range through RMS, Peak, Peak Hold, and LUFS data. Moreover, Correlation & Balance meters are integrated to aid in stereo imaging and phase response adjustments. Users can also reset Peak Hold by clicking on the value as well as modify sensitivity and LUFS readings with a click.

In the Wave view mode, users can inspect the waveform post-channel effects and easily mark peak values in dB. The ability to freeze the waveform by clicking on it or reset the Peak Hold by clicking on the value enhances its usability.

The VU Meter mode is tailored for quick assessment of overall levels featuring adjustable Attack, Release, Minimum and Maximum value controls. Moreover, it offers options for Left/Right, Mid/Side, PPM, and LUFS viewing with an option to enter dark mode by clicking on the VU display.

The Spectrum mode showcases a simplified frequency spectrum view with 3 quality modes for providing a broad overview of frequency distribution during mixing or editing sessions. Users can freeze and analyze frequencies by tapping on the screen alongside the display of PEAK value. The Peak Hold can be reset by clicking on the value.
